Assurance of Salvation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Everybody wants to know if they're secure in Christ. And there's certainly teaching that raises doubts as to the assurance of salvation. If we're going to experience the assurance of our salvation it's going to start in the reality of the resurrection and the fact that our sins have been forgiven. Peter addresses it in his second letter: "For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins." 2 Peter 1:9

Assurance in Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Can you know that you are saved? Can you know that you're destined for Heaven? So many people want to know the answers to those questions. We see the assurance of our salvation spelled out in 1 John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life." Our salvation is found in Christ alone.

Ephesians - 1:15-23: A Prayer for Hope and Power

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Paul presents us with great truths and then offers a prayer for the Ephesians. Their faith in Jesus manifested itself in love towards one-another. He prays that they God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him. This is something that God alone can give. God wants to reveal the fullness of his son to us.

A Benefit for You

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

John wrote: "Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." God created us to be alive and enjoy his life and a relationship with him.

  • I went through the motions of saying that I accepted Christ as my savior and was baptized. Then several years later I prayed with a man and from that day forward my life actually changed.
  • I enjoy reading the Bible to get a better understanding of who I am in Christ and what he's done for me, but sometimes thoughts pop up and tell me it's works reading the Bible. Any advice?

The Message Concerning Jesus

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Everything that is written in the Word of God is to bring us to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and faith in him. Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." We have someone who is always with us and will never leave us.

Pray in Accordance to Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

James writes, "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." (James 5:16b) If we're going to have effective prayers they will reflect the truth of the Word of God that Jesus has given us. Do you pray in accordance with truth?

Ephesians - 1:1-14: You are Blessed in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Chapter 1 of Ephesians is rich and full of truth. When the Spirit of God reveals truth it connects to the heart and changes everything. Paul's desire was to finish the race that God had set before him - to testify about Jesus Christ. Paul took the good news about Jesus wherever he went because that is what God prepared him to do. He addresses his readers as "saints". This is crucial for believers to understand. You are a saint because of who you are in Jesus Christ. Paul uses grace and peace in that order. You cannot experience the peace of God without the grace of God - and grace is a person, Jesus Christ.

Truth Does Matter

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

For 2018 Oxford Dictionary picked the word, "toxic". And this definitely reflects what we've seen in this country over the past year. When we stray from the truth we wander onto a dangerous road and miss out on God's best, spiritual freedom, his peace, and more. We need to look to Jesus Christ to learn how he wants us to live. John 17:17

Our Standard of Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Acts 17:11 "Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so" The Bereans were eager to hear the message Paul had to give. They examined the Scriptures to see if the mssage was true. We need to be more like the Bereans and examine everything we hear and read against the Word of God.
