Wise Men Still Worship Him

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today we're going to look at the visit of the Wise Men. We read about it in Matthew 2:1-12 "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.' ..." When they found him, they bowed down and worshipped him. And we know that one day all will worship Jesus Christ as king.

Lord, What Have You Done?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We are talking about the Christmas story this week. And there are many interesting parts that aren't often at the forefront of the story. Consider Joseph receiving the news of Mary's pregnancy. His first thought was to divorce her quietly. But God intervened and let Joseph in on the plan of Jesus Christ's birth. And then we have Mary's story. She's visited by an angel and asks, "How can this be?" All things are possible with God.

He Will Save His People From Their Sins

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We've got one week until Christmas Day. We don't know the exact date that Jesus was born, but this has become the traditional day we celebrate His birth. Matthew tells us how his birth came to be. Matthew 1:18-21 "Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man... "

He Has Overcome the World

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of our favorite verses and one that has authority in our lives is found in John 16:33 "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." There is only once place to find peace. You will find your peace in Jesus Christ. If this holiday season you're feeling down and have lost your way, don't look to the world for peace. Look to Jesus alone.

Transformed by a Renewed Mind

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

There are a lot of things that can lead to the holiday blues this time of year and we want to take a fresh look at this from the perspective of Jesus Christ. Romans 12:2 reads: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." We need our minds renewed.

The Reality is Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

If you've never read Hebrews 10:5-10, I encourage you to read this passage - the whole chapter. It's very encouraging. Hebrews is a letter of contrast showing that Jesus was far superior to everything they had known before. The writer shows that the things of the law were only a shadow and the reality was found in Jesus Christ. Here we read about the power of an indestructible life. "Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, 'Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me ...'. Jesus Christ came into the world to fulfill the will of God on your behalf.
