Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 22

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

People often say "I know God has forgiven me, but I can't forgive myself". They are anchored in the past and can't find a path to peace. God never says "forgive yourself". We can only let go of our past when we recognize and accept the forgiveness provided by Christ Jesus. If God has released us from our sins, it just makes sense that we do the same. Your sins have been taken away and God remembers them no more.

A Change of Perspective

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

In Romans chapter 6 we read, "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:3-4 We've been raised a brand new creation to walk in a new way of life.

So Much Grace

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

What is your story of grace? "For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ." Romans 5:17 For us to reign in life we have to receive some gifts. We have so much grace we never run out. When you put grace and righteousness together in Jesus you will always find your balance in him.

An Intimate Relationship with God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life." Romans 5:10 This is probably the most concise statement of the Gospel in the Word of God.

Divine Favor

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

This month we're offering "Making the Case for Grace" for your gift to Basic Gospel. https://basicgospel.net/give Bob looks at Romans 5-8 as Paul argues his case.

  • "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1 God did for us what we could not do for ourselves. We are justified by faith and Christ's righteousness is credited to us.
  • Who is sitting on the throne: Jesus Christ or God? If it is Jesus Christ, is this the judgment seat of Christ described in 2 Corinthians 5:10?
  • In Revelation what is being referred to by the abomination of desolation?
  • Do prophets exist today? Do we listen to current day people who claim to be a prophet?

Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 21

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Your sins are gone. They have been removed because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ. So many struggle with the issue of forgiveness and, as a result, live in guilt, shame, and fear. Understanding the forgiveness you have received will change guilt to joy, shame to thankfulness and fear to assurance.
