Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 20

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What does the word "forgiveness" mean? Forgiveness is such an important issue; yet we remain confused around the concept. The source of forgiveness is God himself. The good news is that in God's eyes, forgiveness is yours because of the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself is Our Hope

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

The Bible is filled with promises of hope. Hebrews 10:23 reads: " Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." The hope we have in Jesus Christ is the same hope the early church had as they faced trials and tribulation of all sorts. We can hold tight to the hope of God because of God's faithfulness.

Wait Upon the Lord

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Hope is the greatest motivator in the human experience. That hope comes from our understand of God. What he's like... how he cares for and loves us. If God is the one who spoke all we know into existence than he knows all about us and knows what we need. "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable...." Isaiah 40:28-31

  • Jennifer found a copy of Simple Gospel, Simply Grace in a lost and found box. She calls to say it changed her life.

The Hope of Moses

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What choices will you make in life in light of the hope that you have in Christ Jesus? Hope is an important reality for all of us. We all need hope. It changes our attitudes and actions. In Hebrews 11 we see the hope that Moses had. "By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin." Hebrews 11:24-25

  • It's extremely difficult to believe GOD loves me. I've asked for forgiveness but when/ how can I forgive myself?
  • What did Jesus mean by the Luke 14:26-27? "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple."
  • If God is God, why does he allow evil things to happen?
