The Great "I Am": God's Name

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We know that the Bible reveals to us that Jesus claims to be "I AM". We will spend a lot of time looking at what Jesus said about it. We will discover how he meets every need of the human life. Everything we desire and want is bound up in Christ Jesus. Today we go back to the Old Testament and the claims God made about himself and how it correlates to what Jesus claimed about himself.

Rest That Satisfies the Soul

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

How do we find our place of rest in Jesus Christ? This applies to believers and unbelievers alike. So many are looking to fill that emptiness in their souls and hopefully that longing will lead them to Jesus. Our relationship with God started from a place of rest. After God created man on the 6th day he rested.

Your Place of Rest

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

For many Christians, they've already found their place of rest. But too many are still trying to find that rest. So let's talk about how to find your place of rest. That's tied to Jesus' death upon the cross 2,000 years ago. The Gospel starts with his death. But why did he die. Hebrews 9:22 answers that: "Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."

Only One Message

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Romans 1:16,17 As Paul went out into the world to proclaim Jesus Christ, he went out unashamed. This is important to us today. Too often we try to fit the message to what's happening in the world. And in doing that we rob the Gospel of its power.

Grace Based Resolutions

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

So many of us make new year's resolutions with all kinds of things. But the Gospel calls us to walk in the newness of life in Christ. In light of that I suggest the following resolutions.

  • No. 1: Find your place of rest in Christ. Hebrews 4:9-10, Romans 5:1.
  • No. 2: Grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:18
  • No. 3: Walk as a child of light. Ephesians 5:8
  • What do you mean by rest?
  • Christina calls to request prayer for her and her daughter.
  • Are people saved who practice sinning?
  • There is one unpardonable sin, which is the sin of unbelief. But what if someone turns away from God and says they "don't believe anymore".
  • Regarding 2 Thessalonians 2:7: What is "the secret power of lawlessness that is already at work?" Also, who is "the one restraining this lawlessness till he is taken out of the way?"

The Greatest Gift of All

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

We have been made new in Jesus Christ. We can walk in this new way of grace. Everything is new. It's a time of celebration. We just celebrated the birth of Jesus and we're celebrating the new year and we can certainly celebrate the New Covenant. We have a perfect relationship with God. Our pray for our listeners is that this year would be more restful than ever before recognizing what we have in Christ.

  • I believe 1 John 1:9 to be addressed to unbelievers because they lack these assurances that have been given to us who are In Christ. Thank you for any comments any clarification you might add.
  • Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." in the KJV that has the second half of the verse compared to the ESV. How do we know which is correct?
  • My question is, is there a way I can give my entire life to Jesus Christ and not look back anymore?

Happy New Year

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Many people begin the New Year with the resolution to read the Bible. But the better resolution is one that commits to read the Bible with the intention of getting to know the Author. The Bible will come alive as you explore what it says about the love, grace, and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. These three principles will help you truly enjoy reading the Bible in this new year.

Stand Firm in the Grace of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Many are looking to the new year and what it has in store for them. "I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it." 1 Peter 5:12 In 2020 we're called to stand firm in the grace of God. That's the very thing that saved us, that sustains us, and that will allow us to live out who we are in Christ.

Walk in Complete Rest and Peace

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Richard shares his thoughts on how to face 2020 with hope. "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, ... But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells." 2 Peter 3:10-13 This is a statement from Peter talking about our future hope. "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law..." Ephesians 2:13-16 All of this has to do with Jesus.

  • It seems I commit the same sin, or sins, over and over! I'm afraid that the Lord will get tired of my confessions.
