2 Corinthians 3:6-18 is another favorite passage. Paul's ministry was a ministry of life - he carried with him the gospel of Jesus Christ. He wasn't a minister of the law. God equipped Paul to be a minister of the New Covenant. Why? Because this gospel message is a message of life. As children of God, we need to share the same message.

A jury has found a former Dallas police officer, Amber Guyger, guilty of murder in the September 2018 shooting death of her neighbor, Botham Jean. His younger brother, Brandt Jean, didn't wish Guyger any ill will on Wednesday. It was an incredible outpouring of forgiveness. It was a true expression of the love and forgiveness of Christ.

Our foundation is Jesus Christ and his love for us. Paul was convinced "that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38,39 As we grow in the perfect love of God we understand that "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

There are a lot of people who are restless and feel stymied in their Christian life and live as a practical atheist. Usually you find a commonality and it's this: they're still not sure that they are truly forgiven. Peter addresses this in his 2nd letter. "For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins." 2 Peter 1:9

Exodus chapter 33 lays out the interaction between the Lord and Moses. New Testament writers refer back to this relationship to share with us what we have in Christ Jesus. In this passage is full of substance relating to the very presence of Christ in us, the hope of glory.

We have a tough journey as believers in Christ living in this world today. But we have this truth: greater is he who lives in me than he who is in the world. And we see this in Philippians 2:12,13 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." Your role is to trust, rely, and depend upon Christ to work through you.

How do we break free from the patterns of this world? How do we stand firm in truth?
