Abdu is North American Director with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries and is the author of three books, including his latest, Saving Truth: Finding Meaning and Clarity in a Post-Truth World. Why do bad things happen to good people? If God is good why is there suffering? Why does evil persist? The world looks for answers but does not realize the truth that this is a death vs. life matter. We are born dead to God and Jesus offers life - his life. Christ in us, our hope of glory.

We're hit by tragedy on every side. If we're not in the midst of one there's one waiting for us. And that's not good news for us. But we have hope in Jesus who told us "But take heart; I have overcome the world". John 16:33 Our hope is in Christ in good and bad times.

A special Labor Day broadcast! The Word of God has a lot to say about work. Today we take a look at just a few passages that speak to work. The work of God is this - to believe in the One he has sent (John 6:29-30). Our work is simple faith in Jesus Christ. Paul had a labor of love to share the good news of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:8-9). He reminds us, "your labor in the Lord is not in vain." We are called to live by faith. As we do, we will see incredible things happen in and through our lives. We are God's workmanship and we have been created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-9). As we live by faith in Jesus, the work we are called to do, we will see good works flowing in and through us. Where do these good works take place? Only in church? Only on mission fields? No, it's in everyday life! As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:22 "I saw that there was nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work." We hope you enjoy this special edition of Basic Gospel!

The very nature of God is love. It was the love of God that we responded to and it is the heart and soul of Christianity. When the world sees the love of God in us, it takes notice and draws people to Him. God not only has this love toward us, he acted on it by sending Jesus. God demonstrated his love for you at the cross of Jesus Christ. That's good news!

Apart from the grace of God we are lost, still dead in our sin. Because of the grace of God we are made alive in Christ and can experience his life to the full in this life. The last note of the Scripture is that of grace. John, Paul, and Peter end nearly all their letters in a message of grace.

We all have a problem with sin. We don't know what to do and we feel guilty and separated from God's grace. So what do we do with sin? Jesus Christ has bore our sins in his body. "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures" 1 Corinthians 15:3 Jesus' sacrifice was propitiation for the sins of the world. Wherever sin may take us God's grace will be there to call us back.

Paul pours out his heart in the first 5 chapters of 2 Corinthians and then he implores his audience: "Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain." There's is something unique about Jesus Christ. You get to know Him so that he becomes the gate... the way, the truth, and the life.

Galatians 1:6-9 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel ... If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." There is one Gospel. We are saved through that Gospel - the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus isn't and example to follow. He's a savior to worship. It's by grace through faith in Jesus Christ
