How do we overcome emotional problems? How do we get out of those feelings of anxiety, or self-pity, or fear, or anger, or depression? All month we've been giving that prescription and that prescription is truth. Romans 1:24, 25 "Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen."

Jesus promised the disciples the Holy Spirit. John 16:12-15 "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."

There is no good news apart from the grace of God. The simple gospel is simply grace. The new life you have in Christ, the forgiveness you have in Christ, and the freedom you have in Christ are all gifts of grace, given freely and without conditions. His presence in you is grace. He freely chose to abide with you and to open the way for you to abide with him. The gospel is grace from start to finish.

What we think about our life will determine how we feel. We can look at the life with a worldly perspective or a Godly perspective. If we look at it through a worldly perspective we'll have misplace dependencies and unrealistic expectations built upon wrong premises. If we're going to walk the pathway to peace we have to renew our mind with the God's truth. And that is through a walk of faith and a heart of thankfulness which leads to the peace of God which guards our heart and mind.

The gospel message calls us to be free...in Christ. This allows us to serve one another in love. Consider the apostle Peter. He denied the Lord three times. Yet, Jesus lifted him out of his despair. That's grace. Peter knew the Lord. The love of God compelled him to break away from long held sentiments toward the Gentiles and tell them about Jesus. The gift of grace is Jesus Christ. You have the joy and privilege of knowing him and walking in his love. You have the privilege of making him known in this world of darkness. Rejoice. In Christ you know the God of the universe. Even more amazing, the God of the universe knows you. And as Jesus said, this is eternal life.
